Robert Treuherz MD - Experienced Physician and Medical Author

A Physician with decades of clinical experience in Internal Medicine, Addiction Treatment, and Critical Care, Robert Treuherz, MD, has served in various roles across hospital systems, outpatient clinics, and detox facilities. Robert Treuherz, MD, has provided acute and chronic care to diverse patient populations and held medical directorships in multiple institutions across Florida and California.

Dr. Treuherz earned his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in 1983. He completed a rotating family practice internship at New York Medical College in Valhalla and participated in a six-month surgical training exchange at Hospital Baucicaut in Paris. Dr. Treuherz pursued a three-year Internal Medicine residency at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York. In 1996, he became Board Certified in Internal Medicine and maintained certification through 2006. He also holds certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Throughout his career, Dr. Treuherz served as a consulting and admitting Physician at Care Forward Treatment Center and 5 Residential Detox in California, and previously led Internal Medicine teams at Holy Cross Medical Group and Palm Air Medical Center in Florida. He has written essays on addiction recovery and authored a forthcoming book, 10 Second Chances. Dr. Treuherz speaks English, Spanish, Polish, and conversational French. He retired from clinical work in 2020 and currently lives in California, with ongoing interests in classical music, philosophy, and aviation.
